In Apto CR, in São Paulo, the kitchen left the back of the house and took over the heart of the plan. The 165 m² revolve around a generous island that acts as work counter, breakfast table and bar top, depending on the hour. Living and dining settle around it under the same light, and deep-toned joinery unifies the composition. The choice communicates its residents' way of life: cooking is the home's ritual, and the architecture placed it at the center.
