Poltrona Cabaça

The Cabaça armchair, the NJ+ studio's first furniture creation, is a homage to the Brazilian northeastern sertão. Cabaça is the popular name of a hard-shelled fruit used in decoration, as a musical instrument, in craftwork, and even as a water bottle in times of drought in the countryside. It was in the plurality of its function, the strength of its symbolism and the delicacy of its form that Nildo found inspiration for the armchair's creation.
