Cama Moara

Each night we sleep, a rebirth takes place. This concept is named Moara in Indigenous culture. According to the legend that tells the origin of the Kayapó people, after the creation of the world by the god Maíra, the first people were brought forth. To keep them protected, Maíra taught them to build a bed, a symbol of comfort and safety during sleep. It was believed to be not only a place of rest, but of connection with the earth and one's ancestors. The piece, a mat made of natural materials such as straw and fibers, received a contemporary reinterpretation at the hands of architect Nildo José. With simple lines and an upholstered base, it features a support roll at its headboard. Those drawn to a disruptive way of decorating, one that values cultural roots, will want the Moara bed in their bedroom.
